Where?
The Coastal Bend Business Innovation Center (CBBIC) and Rugged Cycles is conducting a pilot test program on the Texas A&M University Corpus Christi campus using Rugged Cycle bicycles. Rugged Cycles, a Corpus Christi bicycle manufacturer, is testing their bicycles by making them available under this pilot program to students on the Texas A&M University Corpus Christi campus. This program will be eventually used by universities across the country providing a cheaper and greener means of transportation for students. The university has the opportunity to become an example for future university bicycle programs in the country and will be looked as a reference for environmentally friendly programs. This program is designed to be highly duplicable and adaptable to be used as a pilot for Rugged Cycles to present to future prospect universities and campuses.
When? Start date/Duration
Students decide on the start date of the rental program. The duration of the lease is for at least a month (30 days) from the day the bicycle is delivered or for a semester. Students can renew their rental contract for another month prior to the return date. The monthly rate is flat fee.
How Much?
The retail price for a Rugged Cycles bicycle is $1,200. Students will be able to rent the bicycle for one month for $30 or for $27 a month if renting for an entire semester. Students will be able to keep the bicycle for another period (one month at a time) by renewing the contract before the return date. For malicious damages or theft, the student will be responsible for repairs or the actual price of the bicycle.
How to pay? Credit or Debit Card with the Mastercard/Visa logo
This website is equipped with a payment interface. Students can pay with their Credit or Debit Card with the Mastercard/Visa logo through the interface. Students will be charge for one month at a time or the entire semester. Students can decide prior to the return date of the bicycle to continue renting the bicycle for another month. Students will return to this website and click Renew Bicycle for additional rental duration time period.

The CBBIC's mission is to enable and accelerate the growth of emerging innovative companies for the purpose of creating jobs, promoting entrepreneurial economic development endeavors and providing executive level education to the greater south Texas Coastal Bend area.
Rugged Cycles is a non-resident client of the CBBIC and is offering their product to students for on and off campus use. Rugged Cycles provide cycle transportation specifically designed to withstand harsh conditions. It features an uncompromising design philosophy in safety, reliability, and durability. Rugged Cycles has developed an airless chainless bicycle through the use of innovative & proprietary technologies and designs. Rugged Cycles is now offering its products to TAMUCC students.
Any student that meets the requirements to rent a bicycle (see requirements page) can participate in the program. Students are the first target for this program. TAMUCC is trying to provide transportation on and off campus to every interested student. TAMUCC is trying to "GO GREEN" and the bicycle rental program will put TAMUCC on the way to have a greener campus.
